(CBS) Ernie Els is off to a really poor start at the British Open. Through his first 10 holes of Thursday’s opening round at Royal Liverpool, Els was seven-over.

The below sequence didn’t help as Els recorded a triple bogey on the first hole. After missing from a foot or two, Els’ frustration caused him to pull a move that an Average Joe might try on a Saturday morning at the local public course. He used the wrong-side of the putter.

Predictably, it didn’t go well.
