Man Killed, Girlfriend Wounded In Aurora Shooting

(CBS) --Aurora Police are investigating a shooting early Saturday morning that left one man dead and his girlfriend wounded.

Police arrived at the 700 block of Superior Street at 2:25 a.m. and found the wounded couple inside a car. Nathan Gonzalez, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman, also 20, was taken to an Aurora hospital with gunshot wounds in her hand and knee.

According to Aurora Police, two men armed with handguns and wearing dark clothing and hooded sweatshirts entered the vehicle and opened fire after a short conversation. Police say the two fled northbound through the back yards.

Police say the shooting is apparently gang-motivated.

Anyone with any information should call Aurora Police investigators at (630) 256-5500 or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at (630) 892-1000. Calls to Crime Stoppers are anonymous and a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
