The clothes, the hair, the view from Marina City!

The couples appear perfectly paired, each in their own world. The conversations, focused and intense.

The man leaning on the balcony when this photo was snapped in 1967 seems as if he is unaware that he is 52 stories above the Chicago River.

Looking across the panorama, one can’t help but be amazed at how sparse the skyline appeared nearly 50 years ago.

At the time of this party, Marina City was about three years old.

When it was completed in 1964, (the first tower was finished in 1962) the 60 story corn-cob twin towers were the tallest residential buildings in the world.

This photograph appeared as the National Geographic photo of the day in August 2013 and just recently appeared on Reddit’s Old School Cool site.
