CHICAGO (CBS) — A 36-year-old man was facing misdemeanor charges, after urinating into a woman’s car in the South Loop, and coming up with an unusual explanation.

WBBM Newsradio’s Bernie Tafoya reports Martin Conneely, of Norridge, allegedly relieved himself Sunday night from a second floor balcony, into the open sunroof of a car parked in the 1800 block of South Wabash Avenue.

She told police she wouldn’t press charges if Conneely would promise to clean up what he’d done, but he declined; and allegedly told officers he was urinating into the car because he thought someone was trying to steal it, and he was trying to stop them.
