Man Arrested For Urinating Into Open Sunroof Of Car

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 36-year-old man was facing misdemeanor charges, after urinating into a woman's car in the South Loop, and coming up with an unusual explanation.

WBBM Newsradio's Bernie Tafoya reports Martin Conneely, of Norridge, allegedly relieved himself Sunday night from a second floor balcony, into the open sunroof of a car parked in the 1800 block of South Wabash Avenue.

Police said the 59-year-old woman who owns the car told officers she saw Conneely urinating into her car a little after 8 p.m. Sunday.

She told police she wouldn't press charges if Conneely would promise to clean up what he'd done, but he declined; and allegedly told officers he was urinating into the car because he thought someone was trying to steal it, and he was trying to stop them.

When he refused to clean up the mess, Conneely was arrested and charged with criminal damage to property.
