Pilot Killed When Small Plane Crashes In Plano

PLANO (CBS) -- A pilot was killed when a small plane crashed Sunday night in the southwest suburbs.

The crash happened about 8 p.m. in the 15600 block of Griswold Springs Road in unincorporated Plano, according to a statement from the Kendall County Sheriff's office.

Responding crews discovered the deceased pilot and debris from the plane. The Kendall County coroner's office identified the pilot as 80-year-old Elgin resident John Juergenmeyer

Illinois State Police and the FAA are investigating the cause of the crash.
