"In year one, we cut the uninsured rate in Illinois by half," said Brian Gorman with Get Covered Illinois at a signup event at the South Shore Cultural Center.

They signed up more than 700,000 people through outreach, enlisting, among others, community organizations, to help spread the word.

Governor Quinn stopped in and says those talking repeal are wrong.

The process has been simplified and there are more plans and more insurance companies.

You can get help or set up an appointment at GetCoveredIllinois.gov or by calling 866-311-1119.
