(CBS) On Tuesday, CBS Chicago will be holding a disaster relief telethon in conjunction with the Red Cross from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the television studios of CBS 2.

670 The Score personalities Kerry Sayers and Chris Rongey will be on site with scoreboard updates from 9:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.

Donations can be made by visiting cbschicago.com/redcross, texting “Redcross” to 9099 to donate at automatic $10, visiting the Red Cross street team outside of the studio Tuesday or calling the donation phone bank at 855-350-2900 (it will only be active Tuesday).

The theme of this drive is “Fire safety and prevention — keeping people safe during the holidays.” A fire happens every eight minutes, and many of these disasters leave people homeless. The Red Cross is working to reduce deaths and injuries related to fires by more than 25 percent within the next five years.
