Park District Car Falls In Lake Michigan
Park District Vehicle Slides Into Lake
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Part of the Lakefront Trail was closed Friday, after a Chicago Park District vehicle slid into Lake Michigan.
The Chicago Park District said graffiti removal crews were working along the bike path near Oak Street Beach around 10:30 a.m., when their vehicle slid off an icy area of the trail into Lake Michigan.
No one was in the vehicle at the time, but the Fire Department said one person was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for evaluation.
The bike path between North Avenue and Ohio Street was closed so crews could salt and clear the trail. Bikes were being redirected until further notice.
