(STMW) –A man and a woman were killed and two other people were seriously injured early Sunday when an SUV hit two vehicles and a tree in the North Side Bucktown neighborhood.
The man was driving a gray Chevy Tahoe westbound in the 1800 block of West Webster when the SUV sideswiped another vehicle at 3:30 a.m., police said.READ MORE: Chicago Animal Care To Give Away Free Pet Vaccines And Microchips
The man drove two blocks west, where the Tahoe hit a parked vehicle and a tree, police said.
The man was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. A passenger in the Tahoe, 37-year-old Lajada Jackson, was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she was pronounce dead at 5:48 a.m., the medical examiner’s office said. Her home address was not immediately known. Autopsies were scheduled for Monday.
A third passenger in the SUV was also taken to Masonic Medical Center, and a fourth person was taken to Stroger Hospital, police said. They were both listed in serious condition.
