(STMW) — A man was shot and killed near a public library in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side on Monday afternoon, according to police.

About 2:40 p.m., the 23-year-old and another person got out of a vehicle parked in the 700 block of North Kedzie when they were approached by three other people, police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said. The Richard M. Daley-West Humboldt Chicago Public Library branch is at 733 N. Kedzie.
