Bears Sign TE Dante Rosario To 1-Year Deal

(CBS) After missing out on tight Virgil Green early in free agency, the Bears brought a familiar face back at tight end. The team announced Thursday they've reached a one-year contract agreement with Dante Rosario.

Not only does the 30-year old Rosario have familiarity with the Bears, he spent four years with coach John Fox in Carolina. The Bears originally acquired Rosario via trade prior to the 2013 season, sending a 2014 seventh-round draft pick to the Cowboys.

Over the past two seasons in Chicago, Rosario has started six games, catching 17 passes for 129 yards. Last season, he showed some versatility by filling the lead back role in two-back sets after fullback Tony Fiammetta was waived.

Rosario will compete for the tight end position, but he has also been a special teams contributor throughout his career.
