CHICAGO (CBS) — One man was killed and another wounded at a south side nightclub early Saturday morning, reports WBBM’s Mike Krauser.

It was just before 1:30 a.m. at the Riff Music Lounge in the 2200 block of South Michigan Avenue. Police say a man who had been in an earlier argument with another club patron over a woman returned after being thrown out and shot the man and wounded a bystander.

The 36-year-old victim was transported to Northwestern Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. He has been identified as Michael Ricks of Chicago. A 39-year-old man who was also hit made it to Stroger Hospital himself and was expected to be ok.

Club patrons scattered after the shooting, many into the street where police called in extra officers.

The suspect has not been caught and it’s unclear if police know his identity.
