Frost Advisory Issued For Overnight

(STMW) -- A frost advisory has been issued for early Friday, when low temperatures can damage plants for the second chilly night in a row.

The advisory will be in effect from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. Friday for all Chicago-area counties in northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures overnight will hover around 34 and 38 degrees in the city, but could drop to as low as 27 degrees outside of Chicago, forecasters said. Sensitive vegetation could be damaged if it is left unprotected.

The rest of Friday will be in the upper 50s for most of the area, but closer to the upper 40s near Lake Michigan, the weather service said. Lows Friday will be slightly warmer when temperatures reach the lower 40s.
