Young Chicago Girl Battling Cancer Gets Call From Taylor Swift

(CBS) -- A young cancer patient in Mount Greenwood received a phone call from pop star Taylor Swift Wednesday.

12-year-old Emily Beazley of Mount Greenwood is battling non-Hodgkins lymphoma and doctors recently stopped treatment saying her chemotherapy wasn't working anymore, and there was nothing more they could do.

Emily's mother wrote on Facebook, "She couldn't have been nicer. Emily has a smile from ear to ear."

Friends of Emily gathered at 115 Bourbon Street to make a video reaching out to Taylor Swift. She is lined up to meet with Swift at her Chicago concert in July, but doctors fear that may be too late.

Emily has also had a street named after her and she was named an honorary Chicago Police Officer along with her sister.
