Kris Bryant Is 3rd Among NL 3rd Basemen In Latest ASG Voting

(CBS) Cubs rookie Kris Bryant is third among National League third basemen in the latest All-Star Game voting returns released Tuesday afternoon.

After being second last week, Bryant fell behind Cincinnati's Todd Frazier this week. Bryant has 3.0 million votes, while Frazier has 4.3 million. St. Louis' Matt Carpenter leads the way with 5.5 million votes.

Bryant is hitting .282 with an .869 OPS, 10 homers and 42 RBIs in 60 games this season.

Cubs teammate Starlin Castro was fourth among NL shortstops, trailing St. Louis' Jhonny Peralta by nearly four million votes. Anthony Rizzo was fifth among first basemen, down from fourth last week. Rizzo is hitting .308 with a 1.003 OPS, 15 homers and 43 RBIs in 68 games.

Miguel Montero is fifth among NL catchers.

Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper leads the way with 9.2 million votes.

Fans vote on the starters, while players and coaches vote on most of the reserves.

The All-Star Game is July 14 in Cincinnati.
