(CBS) The White Sox have added former manager Ozzie Guillen and former pitcher Orlando “El Duque” Hernandez to their championship reunion weekend festivities from July 17-19 at U.S. Cellular Field, they announced Wednesday morning.
The reunion will celebrate the champion 2005 White Sox, who were managed by Guillen. Hernandez was one of the back-end rotation pitchers. They’ll join a cast that already includes Paul Konerko, Aaron Rowand and Joe Crede. Additional 2005 team members who will make the visit that weekend will be announced at a later date.
On Saturday, July 18, the White Sox will have a Parade of Champions to honor the 2005 White Sox, who swept the Houston Astros in the World Series. There will be other special events throughout the weekend as well.
