North Barrington Man Charged With Child Pornography

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A North Barrington man was arrested Wednesday and charged with having child pornography.

James M. Parsino, 50, was charged with three felony counts of possession of child pornography, according to a statement from the Lake County sheriff's office.

Authorities with the Lake County sheriff's office and the Lake County state's attorney's Cybercrimes Unit began investigating the case in mid-2014, the statement said.

Parsino was arrested without incident Wednesday at his home in the 100 block of North Rainbow Road in North Barrington, the statement said.

Authorities found devices containing "an extensive amount" of images and videos of pornography depicting children under the age of 13, the statement said.

Because of the high volume of electronic media recovered, officials are still conducting forensic examinations and could seek additional criminal charges, the statement said.

Parsino is being held in the Lake County jail and will appear in court Thursday, the sheriff's office said.
