CHICAGO (STMW) — A 36-year-old man was shot by someone who tried to rob him early Monday in West Town, police said.

About 12:10 a.m., he was walking in the 2500 block of West Lake Street when someone walked up and announced a robbery, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

The 36-year-old ran away and the other person opened fire, hitting him in the buttocks, Greer said.

The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.
