Bears Linebacker Shea McClellin Enters Concussion Protocol

(CBS) The Bears have placed inside linebacker Shea McClellin into the NFL's concussion protocol after he was experiencing symptoms following Sunday's 38-17 loss in Minnesota.

McClellin is the third Bears player to enter the protocol after experiencing symptoms after a game. The same occurred for quarterback Jimmy Clausen after his start in Seattle during Week 3 and then for defensive back Sherrick McManis one week ago. McManis was cleared to return last Friday.

During Sunday's loss to the Vikings, McClellin recorded eight tackles. He has 81 tackles on the season.

Additionally, Bears coach John Fox announced Monday that receiver Alshon Jeffery had received treatment on his hamstring injury suffered in Sunday's game. Jeffery had returned from an illness and calf injury last week.

The Bears will update their injury report on Wednesday. They next play Sunday in Tampa Bay.
