FBI: Man Robbed Third Chicago Bank In Two Weeks
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man suspected of robbing two Chicago banks on the same day last week struck again Monday afternoon, this time in the Wicker Park neighborhood, the FBI said.
At 5:47 p.m., the man walked into the Chase Bank branch at 1959 W. Division St. and handed the teller a note, demanding money, according to the FBI and Chicago Police. He then ran away westbound on Division with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The robber implied he had a weapon, but did not show one, police said. No one was injured in the robbery.
He is described as a black man, between 25 and 35 years old, standing between 5-foot-8 and 6 feet, with brown eyes and a medium build, the FBI said. Police said he was wearing a gray sweater, black pants, a black scarf and tan boots.
The same man is suspected of robbing two banks within 90 minutes on Jan. 19 in the Edgewater and University Village neighborhoods.
At 4:38 p.m. that day, he robbed the MB Financial Bank branch at 5918 N. Broadway, authorities said. Then, at 5:51 p.m., he robbed a Chase Bank branch at 1130 W. Taylor St. He did not show or imply a weapon and no one was injured in the robberies.
On that day, the robber was wearing a black hat, a gray scarf, a gray jacket, black pants and tan boots, the FBI said.
