Car Crashes Into House In Roseland

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police were searching for the driver of a car that crashed into a porch in Roseland early Monday morning.

Around 1 a.m., a car crashed through a fence and into the front porch of a home in the 9900 block of South Wentworth Avenue.

No one inside the home was injured, but the porch sustained major damage. The roof of the porch fell off.

The homeowner's granddaughter said it was like something out of a movie.

"It felt like an earthquake. We actually thought maybe some trucks or something … it's always accidents out here, so we thought something hit, with the house shook," Danielle Winston said.

Winton said her fiancé had just left the porch to go inside moments before the crash. She was visiting from Missouri, and the house where the car crashed is where she grew up.

Neighbors said the driver ran from the scene after the crash, and did not appear to be hurt.
