CHICAGO (CBS) — A wedding expo for the LGBT community was held in downtown Chicago Sunday.

More than 30 booths were divided between two conference rooms at the Hard Rock Hotel. There were booths for wedding venues, cake decorators, florists and photographers who are trying to reach out to the LGBT community.

“Having the Supreme Court decision last year, we brought in a lot of couples in anticipation of national marriage rights and I think many of those people have gotten married and so now we will continue to see that number sort of even out and stabilize,” said Marianne Puechl with the Rainbow Wedding Network.

Puechl says they had about 600 people RSVP and that’s about the same number that attended last year. She said that’s a strong showing for Chicago.

This was the eighth annual LGBT wedding expo held in the area.
