(CBS) The White Sox have placed closer David Robertson on the bereavement list, they announced prior to Thursday evening’s contest at the Baltimore Orioles. Under league rules, Robertson will remain on the list for at least three days and up to seven.

Robertson is 8-of-9 in save chances this season and has a 0.87 ERA in 10 1.3 innings, in which he’s struck out 13 and held opponents to a .152 batting average.

In a corresponding move, Chicago called up 23-year-old infielder Carlos Sanchez from Triple-A Charlotte. He’s hitting .309 with three homers and nine RBIs in 20 games at Triple-A this year.
