CHICAGO (CBS) — To the unassuming, Today is Wednesday, May 4, but to Star Wars fans, it’s their day with its own slogan: May the Fourth be with you.

Star Wars fans feel the force this fourth in different corners of the galaxy.
“I am actually going to get a Star Wars tattoo,” said Anna Little of Nashville, Tenn. “It’s going to be Darth Vader.”
“In high school I celebrated Star wars day quite a bit, carried my light saber around with me,” said Kevin Vanderheiden of Green Bay, Wis.

Ironically today supporters are preparing to rally to save franchise creator George Lucas’ effort to bring his $740 million art museum to Chicago.
“It is not a Star Wars museum, it is an art museum,” said supporter Gino Generelli.
From a deep collection of Norman Rockwell paintings, to comic illustrations, and cinema graphics The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art would feature works stretching far beyond the Star Wars galaxy.
“It is an art museum dedicated to cinema and frankly what is our modern mythology and it’s something we have to capture and celebrate,” said Generelli.
Tourism officials estimate it could draw one million more visitors to Chicago a year, pumping $2 billion into the economy over its first decade.
