(CBS) Chris Coghlan’s return to the Cubs didn’t require a wait, as the reacquired outfielder joined the team Friday after infielder Tommy La Stella was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a right hamstring strain.

Coghlan, 30, was acquired by the Cubs on Thursday in a deal that sent Arismendy Alcantara to the Oakland A’s.
