White Sox Call J.B. Shuck Right Back Up As They Place Charlie Tilson On The DL

(CBS) White Sox outfielder Charlie Tilson's MLB debut went about as poorly as it could go.

He strained his left hamstring while running down a fly ball in the fifth inning of Tuesday's loss in Detroit. In the aftermath, Tilson was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday.

Chicago recalled outfielder J.B. Shuck to take the spot of Tilson, whom the White Sox acquired Sunday in a trade with the Cardinals. Shuck had been demoted Monday to make room for Tilson, who had singled in his first at-bat.

Shuck is hitting .218 with three homers and 13 RBIs in 53 games for the White Sox this season.
