CHICAGO (CBS) — Two boys were in police custody Sunday after a man shot one of them during a burglary attempt in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side.

At 8:26 a.m., a 61-year-old man went to a residence under renovation in the 6600 block of South Rhodes, Chicago Police said. When he arrived at the home he found the door open and went inside to investigate. Inside the home, he confronted two boys — ages 11 and 16 — and shot the teenager in the lower back and right hand.
