CHICAGO (CBS) — A person was fatally shot by Markham police outside a club in the south suburb early Sunday.

The shooting happened outside the Stadium Club in the 16300 block of Dixie Highway in Markham.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office confirmed a male was killed, but did not release his name Sunday morning pending notification of his family.

The Illinois State Police Public Integrity Task Force is assisting with the investigation into the police-involved shooting.

Markham police did not respond to requests for information Sunday.
