Curie Metropolitan High School Holds Vigil To Remember Teen Killed

CHICAGO (CBS) – Family and friends lit candles Monday night to remember a teen who was shot and killed over the weekend.

The prayer vigil was held at the Curie Metropolitan High School football field, remembering 17-year-old student, Naome Zuber.

Zuber was on her way to a birthday party Saturday with three other friends, when she was shot and killed in the Chicago's Back of the Yards neighborhood.

Zuber was in a car traveling north in the 4500 block of South Wood about 12:30 a.m. when someone started shooting inside the car. Zuber was shot in the head.

She was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 12:52 a.m., the medical examiner's office and police said. She lived in the 5400 block of South Kenneth.

Chicago Police have no one in custody.

A $2,000 reward is being offered to anyone with information about the shooter. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Zuber's family cover funeral costs.
