(CBS) —  The storm that dumped nearly a foot of snow in Rockford on Sunday smashed the one-day record for the month.

The total of 11.7 inches in Rockford was more than three times the previous November 25th record of 3.3 inches set in 1977. It also exceeds the monthly single day record of 9.5 inches set in 1951.
