Opening Ceremonies For Special Olympics Canceled
CHICAGO (CBS)--Opening ceremonies for the Special Olympics were canceled today due to inclement weather.
About 5,000 athletes were set to march across the city for the 51st annual spring games, but this week's inclement weather has forced organizers to reschedule.
The good news is the Special Olympics will still be held next week, with or without the opening ceremonies.
Those competitions will be held at Eckersall Stadium in South Chicago from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
