Two CPD Officers Among 3 Injured In Overnight Crash

CHICAGO (CBS)-- Two Chicago police officers and another driver were hospitalized after a crash in South Austin.

According to police, the officers were headed to a scene in an unmarked car, with their emergency lights on, when they were struck by another vehicle in the intersection of Central and Race Avenues.

The driver of the vehicle was a 26-year-old man.

The crash caused the officers to hit a light pole.

All three victims were transported to local hospitals in stable condition.

Police believe alcohol was involved in the crash.
