CHICAGO (CBS) — Five people had to be treated for heat exhaustion before 5 p.m. Wednesday at the first day of Taste of Chicago.

Ambulances were standing by at the festivities for any issues.

In some neighborhoods it felt like 100 degrees.

Wednesday was the hottest day of the year so far with temperatures at O’Hare International Airport reaching 93 degrees. It was the sixth day to reach the 90-degree mark this year.
