Truck Hits Beam, Shuts Down Lower Michigan Avenue

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Lower Michigan Avenue was closed Tuesday night after a truck hit a beam at Lower Wacker Drive.

The beam was left lying on the ground at what appeared to be the mouth of the lower level of the Michigan Avenue Bridge.

The Chicago Department of Transportation responded to the scene and inspected the bridge. No structural damage was found.

Lower Michigan Avenue was expected to reopen later Tuesday night.
