Mendota Teachers On Strike, Talks With School Board Resume Wednesday

CHICAGO (CBS) --  Ninety miles west of Chicago, students in Mendota won't be in school Monday.

Their teachers went on strike on October 16, but the union said the board of education won't negotiate again with them until Wednesday.

The teachers staged a rally Sunday, calling on the board to meet again, so their 1,100 students can return to class.

The union said the two sides are close on money, but differ on insurance costs and planning time.
