CHICAGO (CBS) — Temperatures are falling, and it’s time to think about winter coats.

On Saturday, volunteers were out at the UIC Forum at 725 W. Roosevelt Road handing out coats to those in need.

The coat distribution was part of the 12th annual Operation Warm.

Workers handed out 7,500 coats to public housing residents.

The program is sponsored by the non-profit Operation Warm and the Chicago Housing Authority.
