CHICAGO (CBS) — A 14-year-old girl was hit by a school bus in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood late Wednesday afternoon.

Around 5:30 p.m., the teenage girl was crossing the street using the crosswalk at 85th Street and Vincennes Avenue, when she was hit by the school bus, police said.

The school bus was headed northeast on Vincennes Avenue and was attempting to turn east, police said.

The victim was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she was reported in good condition, police said.

The 67-year-old school bus driver was ticketed for failing to yield to a pedestrian in the crosswalk.
