'Off Their Plate' Hiring Workers To Prepare Meals For Frontline Employees

CHICAGO (CBS)-- An organization that just launched in Chicago is looking to re-hire restaurant workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Off Their Plate is paying restaurant workers to produce meals for frontline medical workers at hospitals. The group started in Boston and has expanded to nine cities including Chicago.

Off Their Plate has raised nearly $2.2 million and is scheduled to deliver nearly 1,000 meals to seven hospitals in Chicago.
