Chicago Weather: Less Steamy For Sunday Night
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Skies cleared late Sunday and the dew points dropped, so it will not as steamy Sunday night.
Earlier Sunday, storms caused some damage in the area. They toppled a power pole and split several trees at Hayes and Newland avenues in Norwood Park.
Trees also came down elsewhere in the city, including Elaine Place near Cornelia Avenue in East Lakeview.
The storm knocked out electricity to about 15,000 ComEd customers. Crews had restored power to most of those customers late Sunday night.
Look for more seasonable warmth through Thursday next week, with highs in the lower to middle 80s and the upper 70s at the lakefront.
The best chance for showers and thunderstorms is on Tuesday. Otherwise, only hit-or-miss storms are expected possible Wednesday though Friday.
More heat and humidity is building for Friday and the weekend, with the 90 returning.
