Chicago Weather: Metra Sets Tracks Ablaze To Combat Extreme Cold
CHICAGO (CBS)-- Metra is bringing back the fire and ice as the extreme cold arrives in Chicago.
Metra shared how it plans to keep trains moving despite the sub-zero temperatures.
The gas burners are on next to the switch heaters, which make it look like the tracks are on fire.
Metra also says it's salting platforms and keeping trains running overnight to keep your commute smooth and warm.
