Chris Tye is thrilled to back home in Chicago reporting for CBS2 News.

He grew up in Oak Park, attending Oak Park and River Forest High School.  Chris has a laser beam focus on a career in broadcasting from a very early age.  Working as a news intern at WBBM-AM, WGN-AM and WLS-TV.

His path back home took him around the Great Lakes region.  After graduating from John Carroll University in Cleveland he worked at TV stations in Traverse City and Grand Rapids Michigan – before settling in as an anchor at WKYC-TV in Cleveland for almost fifteen years.  Along the way he has been awarded with multiple EMMY, Murrow and Associated Press Awards for writing, reporting and anchoring.

Chris and his wife, Nadine, are thrilled to be back in Chicago to reconnect with the town where he grew up and where she went to college (Loyola).

Along with their dog Huckleberry, they are settling into the city’s north side.
