The tough topic of bullying has been the focus of several investigations by CBS 2’s Dave Savini in recent months, including the story just this week of a 10-year-old suburban girl who has been tormented for years.
Now, a new documentary by the Weinstein Company called “Bully” will soon be screened in Chicago, and will hit theaters next month.
The filmmakers say more than 13 million kids will be bullied this year, and 3 million students are absent from school every month because they do not feel safe at school.
The free Chicago screening is at the AMC River East, 322 Illinois St., at 5:30 p.m. March 9. The movie opens in limited release March 30.
